I’LL BE OUT OF ACTION FOR A WHILE

I’LL BE OUT OF ACTION FOR A WHILE

I’m writing this just before I head to hospital for surgery on my throat and neck. I discovered a lump in my neck back in July and after various scans, tests and hospital visits over the past couple of months, a tumour was discovered in my throat, and the decision was made very recently to remove both.

This means I’m going to be out of action for a while. How long that will be is currently unknown as my recovery depends on the surgery, how I feel afterwards and whether I need any follow up treatment. My consultant tells me I’m “relatively young and fit and healthy” which will work in my favour and that the aim is to cure me.

Therefore, I won’t be at the “Do You Own The Dancefloor” screening and Q&A in Bolton this Saturday the 25th of October or be able to DJ for Adored at Bowlers in Manchester later the same day. Going forward I have no the following weekend off anyway, but whether I’ll be at my November gigs for Clockwork Orange at Koko in London on the 8th, Masquerade at The Buttermarket in Shrewsbury on the 15th, STREETrave in Ayr on the 16th or FAC51 The Haçienda at The Warehouse Project in Manchester on the 22nd remains to be seen.

I will keep you informed of my progress here and on my social media channels with updates when I’m ready, and I have already pre-recorded the next few Long Live House radio shows in advance so you can continue to enjoy my weekly selection of great music, guaranteed to bring you joy.

Throughout this unexpected journey I’ve carried on as normal, remained calm and positive and plan to remain so. Hopefully I won’t be out of action for too long and I’ll see you all on a dancefloor soon, as I attempt to manifest as speedy a recovery as possible.
