CATCH ME ON MOM'S SPAGHETTI BREAKFAST FROM 26th JULY

I’m back on daytime radio from Monday 26th July when I’ll be officially launching Mom’s Spaghetti radio with a new Breakfast Show.

The station has been broadcasting non-stop music on the Manchester small-scale DAB since owners Credible Media sold Revolution 96.2 to Bauer Media in October 2020. Mom’s Spaghetti plays classic hip-hop and R’n’B primarily from the 80s, 90s and 00s, with the title inspired from a line from Eminem’s ‘Lose Yourself’ in 2002.

I last presented a daily radio show back in the 1990s when I was on Kiss 102 in Manchester every weekday afternoon. Over the years I’ve covered a variety of daytime radio shows on Kiss, Galaxy, Key 103, Radio City, Juice FM and, bizarrely, Heart and in recent years I’ve presented one-off specials for BBC Radio Manchester too. However, presenting a breakfast show will be a new adventure for me and one that I’m really looking forward to, especially considering the mix of forgotten hip hop classics of the 80s and 90s that I’ll be playing alongside pioneers like Eric B & Rakim, Grandmaster Flash, Ice T and others. There’s also going to be plenty to reflect the changing landscape of the 90s too, with iconic tracks from the likes of Snoop, Jay-Z, The Beastie Boys and Outkast.

Last year, while DJing for 12 hours on the Stream GM platform, I played lots of early and forgotten hip hop tracks and realised just how much I love this genre that was an integral part of my DJ sets in my early days behind the decks. That’s why I can’t wait to get started on this new chapter.

The official launch will be celebrated with a live event at Tokyo in Oldham, where I’ll be DJing to a limited exclusive audience on Friday 23rd July.
