2020 finally came to a close with the NYE Haçienda 24 Hour House Party with United We Stream GM where I performed as part of the Haçienda Classical show and also DJ’d alongside Carl Craig, David Morales, DJ Paulette, Greg Wilson, Hewan Clarke, Jon Dasilva, Justin Robertson, K-Klass, Moby, Norman Jay MBE, Peter Hook, Soul Central, Sub Sub, Todd Terry, Tom Wainwright, Tony Humphries with more. A global audience of over 4 million people joined us online and over £100,00.00 was raised for various charities including the Frankie Knuckles Foundation, OneGM and others. This was our third Haçienda House Party with United We Stream and by far the biggest yet thanks to everyone who took part. Thanks for all of your donations and kind words. As we say good riddance to a horrible and challenging year, it’s time to look forward to 2021. It was supposed to start for me on New Year’s Day for me Djing alongside Greg Wilson at the Liverpool Disco Festival but the new tier system in the UK sadly put paid to that. Hopefully, with three Covid-19 vaccines approved for use in the UK, it won’t be long until postponements and cancellations of club nights are a thing of the past and we can all get back to dancing together on real dance floors rather than virtually. In the meantime I’ll be continuing to live stream from home until we get back to normal and I’ll be using Mixcloud Live due to the fact that this platform, unlike others such as Facebook, Twitch or YouTube, has all of the various licenses required so that there are no copyright claim takedowns and that the artists, writers, producers and other creators featured in the tracks played get paid royalties.
