THIS IS GRAEME PARK: LATEST NEWS

I’m very much looking forward to my first socially distanced DJ gig since lockdown began back in March. I’ll be DJing alongside Norman Jay with Heather Small performing live at Outdoor Summer Sessions at Hardwick Hall in Sedgefield this Saturday 22nd August. This outdoor event will have big screen TVs, street food stalls, cocktail bar, real ale bar, Champagne bar and VIP socially distanced dealing areas as well as a dedicated butler service. More information and ticket details from the link below.

I’m thrilled to announce that FAC51 The Haçienda makes its debut at London’s historic Tobacco Dock next Easter for the biggest event the infamous nightclub has ever held in the capital. For its Tobacco Dock debut The Haçienda brings together three of the key nights that helped established its identity and reputation with Nude, Hot and Flesh at one event for the very first time.

The separate areas of the Grade 1 listed warehouse space in London’s East End represent the ideal backdrop for this very special party and for each of the Haçienda’s pioneering club nights to individually host three of the venue’s cavernous main rooms.

The era-defining Nude, which introduced UK audiences to a wealth of new sounds and imported from the likes of Chicago, Detroit, New York and cities across the world, will take control of the Great Gallery.

The Car Park will pay homage to the seminal Hot night of the summer of 1988. A short-lived night across the second summer of Love, Hot became the epicentre of the then acid house scene, drawing a nationwide crowd of what would now be called influencers to the ground-breaking events.

The Terrace marks a rare appearance for The Haçienda’s trailblazing LGBT night Flesh which from 1990 became one of the Haçienda’s best and most influential nights. Flesh returns for its 30th anniversary in its own inimitable style.

With a line up that matches the ambition of the event yet to be announced, FAC51 The Hacienda at Tobacco Dock looks set to be one of the most anticipated events of 2021

During lockdown I’ve been adding lots of exclusive content and some of my classic DJ sets to my Mixcloud Select profile. I’ve recently added some classic Haçienda DJ sets with more to follow in the coming weeks. You can listen to them via the player and link below. By becoming a Mixcloud Select subscriber you are supporting the people who create the music featured in my mixes who all get paid royalties at a time when income from live shows has pretty much disappeared.

Finally, apologies for the very late cancellation of last Saturday’s We ❤️ Manchester event at Viadux Warehouse. This was due to the previous weekend’s crowd and DJ selfishly not following agreed covid guidelines and protocols which meant that the venue, the staff, the security and DJs all lost out on the chance to earn some money last weekend. It was extremely disappointing to learn about what went on but I fully support Manchester City Council’s decision to revoke the license in the circumstances. If you’re lucky enough to attend or DJ at a socially distanced event I think it’s really important that everyone follows the guidelines which are there for a reason. A very good reason. The live entertainment industry really doesn’t need any more setbacks or delays to reopening again and I’m afraid that any selfish or irresponsible behaviour from audiences or DJs doesn’t help at all. The gig has been rescheduled to September and the date will be announced soon. You can get more details of that and my other rescheduled, postponed and new dates in Carlisle and Preston, which I’ll be announcing soon, from the Gigs tab on my website.
