I was on a train home from Scotland when I learned via Twitter that legendary UK DJ and producer Andrew Weatherall had left us. I was shocked and saddened to learn that one of my contemporaries passed. Andrew was the same age as me.

Tony Livesey from BBC Radio Five Live Drive contacted me to ask if I’d like to come on air to pay tribute to Andrew, so as soon as I got off the train I drove straight to Media City in Salford and you can listen to the BBC In Short edited version of my tribute below.

Although I haven’t seen or worked with Andrew for a few years, I have some very fond memories of DJIng alongside him and of enjoying his DJ sets immensely too.
