One of the things I love about my three decade plus own the decks is the variety of gigs I get to do, both large and small and everything in between. Last weekend is a perfect example of this.
On Friday 30th August I played at St. Mary’s Chambers in Rawtenstall in the Rossendale Valley in Lancashire. This former Methodist Church was built in 1856 and is an impressive Grade II Listed building that now hosts conferences, live events, weddings and more. I was approached earlier this year to see if I would consider playing there and agreed based on the enthusiasm of the promoters. I wasn’t disappointed either because the place was packed with a very enthusiastic and up-for-it crowd who helped make this a special night with a superb atmosphere. I really enjoyed playing this intimate gig and I look forward to returning there in the next few months.

By contrast, my second gig last weekend was at the Cool Britannia Festival at Knebworth House where I played in the Ministry Of Sound arena on Sunday night. I opened the MOS arena straight after Basement Jaxx had finished their DJ set on the main stage and straight away the huge marquee I was playing in began to fill up and within minutes the place was jumping. A great end to a fantastic weekend of contrasting gigs.
If you’d like to catch me on the decks I’ll be playing in Tynemouth, Hastings, Skipton, Todmorden, Manchester, Bexley Heath, Liverpool and Birmingham before the end of November. Full details of those gigs plus December’s and beyond can be found here: Graeme Park Gigs
Hopefully I’ll see you on a dancefloor soon.
