THIS IS GRAEME PARK: OCTOBER 2019 GIGS

What, it’s October? Already? Really? Wow! Where has the year gone? Well, there’s still three months of the year left and if my October is anything to go by it looks like it’s going to be an incredible end to an amazing year.

My first gig is Friday 4th October in Todmorden where I’ll be playing for Sonic Tonic at the Golden Lion. Todmorden is a small market town in West Yorkshire just a short distance from Manchester and back in the 1990s it was the home of legendary club night Out In The Sticks where I DJ’d many times. So I’m really looking forward to returning there for this intimate gig where I’ll be joined on the decks by original Out In The Sticks resident DJ Russ Marland. I’m expecting a massive night.

The following Saturday 12th October promises to be one of the highlights of the year. Possibly even the decade. Or even the century! Maybe. Haçienda Classiçal returns to Manchester alongside Soul II Soul for FAC51 The Haçienda at the incredible Depot Mayfield. If that wasn’t exciting enough for you then the DJ line-up includes Louie Vega (making his Haçienda debut), David Morales, Marshall Jefferson, Arthur Baker, Mike Pickering (who I’ll be DJing with back to back), Greg Wilson, Tom Wainwright, Justin Robertson and more. Oh, and Sub Sub and A Certain Ratio will be there too. No, I’m not making this up. This will be huge. HUGE!

But do be quick. You don’t want to end up disappointed and my guest list absolutely totally full.

The following Saturday 19th October I’m back in Manchester for the 25th Anniversary of groundbreaking radio station Kiss 102 where I used to present several shows. There’s never been a station like it and Manchester’s FM dial is certainly the poorer since it disappeared. That’s a fact and I don’t care what anyone says. Join me and other original Kiss 102 presenters such as David Dunne, Jam MCs, Andy Barker, Mark Hogg, Mark XTC, Nev Johnson and more at the Pen & Pencil. This event is also a charity fundraiser for Blaise Nelson who is the son of Chris Nelson from the Jam MCs and who has a rare form of brain cancer.

Finally, on Saturday 26th October I’ll be playing for Generations 5th Birthday at Arcadia in Bexleyheath. I know nothing about Arcadia or Bexleyheath but all you need to know is that I’m playing at a night that is celebrating its 5th birthday, so they must be doing something right. Plus, I’ve heard good things about this night and I do love playing places I’ve never played before.

The more eagle eyed of you might notice a few gaps in my October diary and you’d be right. I’m DJing at a couple of private events in October and unless you’re invited you can’t come. Yes, I do a lot of private events and if you’d like to enquire about booking me then click on the Contact button and ask me more. If you’re a promoter or club owner you can contact me the same way. But don’t hang about... next year’s diary is already filling up and it’s only October.
