I first met Arthur in New York in 1989 when he came to see me DJ at the Mars Club and we’ve been friend ever since. I vividly remember my mind being blown when I first heard Afrika Bambaataa & The Soulsonic Force’s “Looking For The Perfect Beat” when it was released in 1983 around the time I started DJing at The Garage in Nottingham. When Arthur called me a few weeks ago to ask me to host his Manchester book launch I was honoured and thrilled and can’t wait to chat to him in from=nt of an audience.
