'OUT OF SPACE' PANEL AND BOOK LAUNCH @ MELODIC DISTRACTION/LIVERPOOL

  • melodic bar liverpool (map)

I’m taking part in a panel which will be discussing how UK cities shaped rave culture on Thursday 29th September in Liverpool.

Published in July ‘22, Jim Ottewill’s book ‘Out of Space: How UK Cities Shaped Rave Culture’ explores city by city the fabric and culture of our electronic music scene from the 1990s to today.

Chapter 3, ‘Scouse Powerhousing and the Secret Agents of Change,’ looks at Liverpool and we’re looking forward to discussing the past, present and future of rave culture in our city and beyond with a panel at the Melodic Bar on Thursday 29th September.

Author Jim Ottewill will be joined by 4 industry experts: Cath Hurley (@future_yard), Saad Shaffi (@24kitchenstreet), Graeme Park (DJ, Musician, Broadcaster & Senior Lecturer) and Kevin McManus (@culture_liverpool).

The event kicks off at 7pm and entry is free. The panel will be hosted by @alien_izz (DJ & Senior Radio Producer at Melodic) and live streamed across our platforms, followed by an audience Q&A.
