One of dance music's finest ever, Haçienda legend Graeme Park takes to the decks this Saturday 30th May at United We Stream GM for the afternoon, evening and into the night as he delves into his decades long, extensive musical “know-how” to pull together a varied and diverse DJ’s soundtrack for the day.
Having only ever performed for six hours or eight hours straight previously, this epic half day marathon marks Graeme's longest ever stretch and allows the vastly experienced DJ to play much more widely than he in a normal club set, planning to bring in more diverse selections from genres he is lesser known for as well as a fair few surprises.
Planning to pace himself accordingly throughout the day to ensure tip top condition throughout, and currently preparing each day for Saturday's test, Graeme comments that although live streaming provides the current best alternative, he is still missing clubs...
"As much as I'm enjoying live-streaming while clubs remain closed, it's frustrating only getting an hour or so to play some tunes when I'm used to longer DJ sets. So when I was asked by United We Stream GM to perform a 12 hour DJ set I said yes immediately. It's gonna be a truly eclectic selection of grooves from the past, present and future to help keep everyone entertained.
“As well as dropping some huge house tunes, I'll also be digging out a variety of funk, soul, disco and hip hop grooves and some random pop tracks too. There'll be a massive party atmosphere all day long."
Beyond and because of the music, Graeme has become hugely versatile over his time tracking the development of dance music since the mid Eighties at Nottingham record shop Selectadisc. Creating a hugely successful radio career and respected media profile alongside the DJing, he has come to be someone very much at the forefront of The Haçienda since his arrival in 1988 as well as his role in the revival of FAC51 over the last decade, both as a DJ and one of the key players in Haçienda Classical.
With his prodigious output, ever-ready outlook and strong work ethic (well, he is Scottish you know), Graeme's immense preparation and consistent dedication to his craft make this Saturday's bespoke one off "Day Of Parky" at United We Stream GM one not to be missed out on.
