This weekend I’m very excited to be spinning at the annual Vintage By The Sea Festival in Morecambe. This is the third Morecambe Vintage, but my first. I have played at other Vintage Festivals over the years, so I have a good idea what to expect. However, as Vintage By The Sea was voted the Best Vintage Event in the world by The Guardian, I’m especially looking forward to this one.

Music, fashion, film, food and loads more cultural delights from the past few decades will be celebrated throughout the weekend of  the 5th and 6th of September and everyone makes a real effort to look the part too. If you’ve ever been to a Vintage Festival, you’ll know that it’s without doubt the best looking, most stylish festival around. Personally I’m really looking forward to not wearing wellies, unlike the majority of festivals I play at. A quick look at the weather forecast tells me that it’s going to be dry this weekend too!

I’ll be DJing on the Saturday night alongside Dave Haslam in the Warehouse which is based in the unique surroundings of Morecambe‘s former railway station. We’ll be celebrating the history of house music from the late 1980s through to acid house and early 90s rave culture. But whatever you’re musical preferences, you’re bound to find something to appeal to your tastes with soul, funk, rock’n’roll, jazz, swing and more all being represented by a truly eclectic and varied line-up of DJs throughout the weekend.

And if that’s not enough to tempt you there’s a variety of street food, market stalls selling vintage clothes and accessories, pop up hair salons, classic cars and more. There’s even an RAF flyover featuring classic war planes.
